When your mask becomes your prison.
For high masking autistic folks who had to become hyperindependent to survive, our masks became our prisons.
“Refusing to perform neurotypicality is a revolutionary act of disability justice. It's also a radical act of self-love.”
Welcome to My Autistic Therapist! I'm thrilled to have you here. My name is Danielle Aubin, LCSW, also known as @myautistictherapist. I specialize in supporting autistic (including: PDA'ers, AuDHD'ers, 2e folx, etc) who want to learn how to unmask, heal internalized ableism, and live an authentic life true to themselves. My approach is deeply rooted in mindfulness, collaboration, and a person-centered perspective. I offer neurodivergence-affirming psychotherapy, coaching, support groups, and an online late-discovered autistic membership community.
I am dedicated to creating safe and non-judgmental spaces where you can freely explore and expand your self-knowledge, knowing that your experiences and perspectives are respected and valued. For more information on my therapeutic approach, click here.
Embracing diversity and inclusivity is fundamental to my practice. I create a non-judgmental environment that radically celebrates and affirms neurodivergence, while also being welcoming and inclusive of individuals from various backgrounds. Whether you identify as LGBTQIA+, non-binary, transgender, kinky/poly, alternative lifestyle, or belong to any body size or BIPOC community, you will find acceptance and understanding here.
